At Embedded Alley, our system engineering skills have been honed over many years of producing quality, stable and reliable systems with an eye to performance. Our engineers have been pioneers in building open source software for public network telecommunications products that require up to five or six 9s (or 99.999 or 99.9999 percent) availability. As active members of the open source community, we have contributed to RapidIO and fastboot development, and the Carrier Grade Linux definition and implementations.

When customers engage with Embedded Alley for custom services, they can leverage our extensive knowledge of key technologies for reliability, availability and serviceability for highly available telecom and networking products. We have expertise with both Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) and MicroTCA (µTCA) platforms.

We address serviceability and manageability through advanced implementations of Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI), and the Service Availability Forum Hardware Platform Interface (HPI), as well as HotSwap, SNMP, SCSI, SerialATA (SATA), and SCTP as required for your platform. We are also expert in TCP/IP-based backplane communication.

At the core of our custom services is the Embedded Alley Development System, a set of integrated open source software components built into an easy-to-use development environment than can be used by both your engineers and ours throughout your product lifecycle. Changes and updates can be easily captured, documented and explained, with a tight integration with your source control. Embedded Alley allows for remote updating and debugging of your live system with minimal impact on performance.
