As one of the first MontaVista Software employees, he played a key role in defining the MontaVista Linux product. Dan has held senior systems architect positions in a number of companies, some of whom have become customers of Embedded Alley.

Matt Porter - Chief Architect
Matt Porter has more than 12 years experience with embedded software at IBM, Motorola, and MontaVista Software. He has worked in the defense market, developing cryptographic platforms and secure real time operating systems. At Motorola Computer Group, Matt was a leader in developing and maintaining Linux kernel support for PowerPC-based VME and CompactPCI single board computers. Also an early employee of MontaVista Software, Matt took a leadership role in defining how that company would work with the Linux community on a daily basis and helped to define the MontaVista product offering.

Matthew Locke - COO
Matthew Locke has more than 12 years experience in technology and business leadership roles for companies such as MontaVista Software and Lockheed Martin. Prior to Embedded Alley, Matt held the CTO positions at several startups including NomadGS, which focused on building custom embedded Linux solutions for the consumer device market, and Suunnata, a company developing a system for the secure delivery of services to networked connected devices. As the Product Architect for the highly successful MontaVista Linux Consumer Electronics Edition, Matt was responsible for the overall product architecture and led the development of key technologies for running Linux on consumer devices. Matthew Locke received a BSEE from University of Maryland, College Park.

Ken Keller - Vice President of Engineering
Ken brings over two decades of technology and management experience to Embedded Alley. Starting in 2000, Ken founded and ran the MontaVista Software Design Center in Tempe, Arizona, where his team specialized in kernel and networking development in concert with the Linux developer community. His team there also pioneered the design and development of the first Carrier Grade Linux implementations. Prior to MontaVista, Ken was manager and chief architect for Motorola Computer Group Cross Industry Business Unit, responsible forĀ system architecture and embedded OS support for VME, CompactPCI and motherboard product lines based on Power and Intel Architectures. Ken also conveys additional applications experience in automotive systems, process control, robotics and automated test equipment.
